Privacy Policy

I am committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of my clients and visitors to this website. In particular, I want you to know that I will never sell, rent, or trade email lists with other companies and individuals for marketing purposes.

Aside from using good judgement there is now a legal requirement to provide you with a detailed privacy policy so that you are clear on when and why I might collect your personal information, how I use it and how I keep it secure.

Types of Data Collected

Website Cookies

A “cookie” is a piece of information that is stored on your computer’s hard drive and which records how you move your way around a website so that, when you revisit that website, it can present tailored options based on the information stored about your last visit. Cookies can also be used to analyse traffic and for advertising and marketing purposes.

Cookies are used by nearly all websites and do not harm your system.

If you want to check or change what types of cookies you accept, this can usually be altered within your browser settings. You can block cookies at any time by activating the setting on your browser that allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of my site.

How do I use cookies?

I use cookies to track your use of our website. This enables me to understand how you use the site and track any patterns with regards how you are using the website. This helps me to develop and improve the website as well as products and / or services in response to what you might need or want.

Cookies are either:

– Session cookies: these are only stored on your computer during your web session and are automatically deleted when you close your browser – they usually store an anonymous session ID allowing you to browse a website without having to log in to each page but they do not collect any personal data from your computer; or

– Persistent cookies: a persistent cookie is stored as a file on your computer and it remains there when you close your web browser. The cookie can be read by the website that created it when you visit that website again.

Cookies can also be categorised as follows:

– Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are essential to enable you to use the website effectively, such as when buying a product and / or service, and therefore cannot be turned off. Without these cookies, the services available to you on the website cannot be provided. These cookies do not gather information about you that could be used for marketing or remembering where you have been on the internet.

– Performance cookies: These cookies enable me to monitor and improve the performance of the website. For example, they allow me to count visits, identify traffic sources and see which parts of the site are most popular.

Google Analytics

When someone visits this website I use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. I do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website.

PayPal

Payment for a service from me is through PayPal, a third-party payment service. When you click on the button, a new page will open, taking you to PayPal. I do not share your information with PayPal. When you make a payment, and I sign into my account, I can see your email address, address if you have provided it, and the payment amount. I do not use this information for any purpose other than to confirm payment for a service. For the purposes of my bookkeeping, I maintain a record of the amount and date but not your name or other personal details. That information is held by Paypal. For more information, please refer to PayPal’s privacy policy here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-prev

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for my monthly e-newsletter, I collect personal information that you have freely given me (this is usually limited to your name and email address). I use that information to send regular (currently monthly) newsletters to tell you about things relating to tarot, law of attraction, and other subjects relating to living an empowered life; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. I don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations, businesses or people. I hate that myself so won’t do it to you!

I use a third-party processor, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. I gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help me monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to these mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of my emails or by emailing me directly on stephanie@stephaniemackay.com. I won’t take offence!

Third Parties

I do not share your data with any third parties, but as stated above I do use MailChimp as my mailing list delivery service, Google analytics to figure out how clever my marketing has been, and PayPal for payments.

Access to Your Personal Information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that I hold. Email your request to acsunprairie@aol.com and I will address it immediately. Thank you.
